MIGRAINE HEADACHE TEA brings prompt relief without synthetic drugs and without side effects

Photo: MIGRAINE HEADACHE TEA brings prompt relief without synthetic drugs and without side effects.

People who suffer from migraines have been told many times that they have an emotional component to their headaches, implying a psychological problem. In our opinion emotional is a secondary symptom for metabolic dysfunction such as a problem with the liver.

Factors that trigger a Migraine:

-sleep deprivation
-strong smells
-weather changes
-foods: meats, salt, chocolate, sugar, yeast, alcohol, coffee, cola beverages
-environmental substances such as smoke, gas fumes, paint fumes

When you eliminate a food allergy, correct a nutrient deficiency or re-balance the liver your migraines may become a pain of
the past.

SUGGESTIONS: Drink 2-3 cups a day of Migraine Headaches Tea. Get Liver Cleanse Tea and Colon Cleanse Tea (in case of constipation). For emotional relief Calming Tea will be a great solution.MIGRAINE HEADACHE TEA brings prompt relief without synthetic drugs and without side effects.

Photo: A Simple Ayurvedic Home Remedy for Bloated Stomach:-

Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of diet and lifestyle to lead a disease free life. By diet it means intake of fresh as well as cooked vegetables and fruits and avoidance of non-vegetarian food. By lifestyle it means observance of certain basics like exercise, yoga etc.

Even intake of vegetarian food is to be in moderation, Ayurveda insists. If not, it leads to indigestion, bloated stomach, improper assimilation of food etc.

One simple ayurvedic home remedy for simple bloated stomach, indigestion etc is given below.

Take 20 drops of lemon, 20 drops of grated ginger juice and 7 drops of honey. Mix them together and keep it ready. Now take a spoonful of cumin seeds and chew them thoroughly. Swallow down the chewed cumin seeds and immediately drink the lemon, ginger honey mix. This will clear the bloated stomach and indigestion due to overeating in minutes.

Traditional Remedy for Bloated Stomach:-

Take 100 gm of coriander seeds and 25 gm cumin seeds. Powder these seeds to a fine consistency and mix them thoroughly. Take a spoonful of this powder and add it to a glass of milk. This is an excellent remedy for a bloated stomach.

Ashta choornam is an Ayurvedic preparation for gas and bloated stomach. Half teaspoon of ashtachoornam is mixed with a bolus of hot rice and taken before the main course. A bit of ghee can be added to this. This is found to stimulate appetite. It helps in proper bowel elimination. It arrests diarrhea due to indigestion. It prevents accumulation of gas in stomach.

One way to prevent formation of gas is to take food based on one's intake capacity. One rule of thumb is to have solids half the stomach, 25% water and the remaining 25% be left empty. This should be found out through personal experience. Ayurveda discourages eating to full.A Simple Ayurvedic Home Remedy for Bloated Stomach:-

Basic Principles of Ayurveda

Basic Principles of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a holistic system of healing which evolved among the Brahmin sages of ancient India some 3000-5000 years ago. There are several aspects of this system of medicine which distinguishes it from other approaches to health care.
  • It focuses on establishing and maintaining balance of life energies within us, rather than focusing on symptoms.
  • It recognizes the unique constitutional differences of all individuals and therefore recommends different regimens for different types of people. Although 2 people may appear to have the same outward symptoms, their energetic constitutions may be very different and therefore call for very different remedies.
  • Ayurveda is a complete medical system which recognizes that ultimately all intelligence and wisdom flows from one absolute source (Paramatman). Health manifests by the grace of the Absolute acting through the laws of Nature (Prakriti). Ayurveda assists Nature by living a life of balance according to her law.
  • Ayurveda describes 3 fundamental universal energies which regulate all natural processes on both the macroscopic and microscopic levels. They are VaataPittha and Kapha.
  • Ayurveda seeks to heal the fragmentation and disorders of the mind-body complex and restore wholeness and harmony to all people.

Scope of Ayurvedic Medicines (Ashtaangaas)

  • Internal Medicine (Kaayachikitsa)
  • General Surgery (Shaalya Tantra)
  • Ophthalmology and ENT (Shaalakya Tantra)
  • Pediatrics & Obstetrics / Gynaecology (Kaumarabhrtya)
  • Psychiatry (Bhutavidya)
  • Toxicology (Agaata Tantra)
  • Nutrition, detoxification and rejuvenation (Rasaayana Tantra)
  • Fertility and Virility (Vajikarana)

The five elements

Everything in the universe is made up of combinations of five elenents (panchamahaabhutas). This includes the human being which also acquires a soul or spirit. These five elements are known as:
  • Space or Aakaasha
  • Air or Vaayu
  • Fire or Agni
  • Water or Apa
  • Earth or Prithvi
These 5 subtle elements (Panchamahaabhutas) form the basis for all things found in the material creation, from a grain of sand to the complex physiology of every human being. Balancing these elements in just the right way for each unique individual is the key to maintaining health and treating disease.

The Tridoshas

Five elements are coded into 3 biological forces which govern all life processes. These 3 forces are known as the 3 doshas, or simply the tridosha. The tridosha regulates every physiological and psychological process in the living organism. The interplay among them determines the qualities and conditions of the individual. A harmonious state of the 3 doshas creates balance and health; an imbalance, which might be an excess (vrddhi) or deficiency (kshaya), manifests as a sign or symptom of disease. The Tridoshas are:
  • Vaata
  • Pitta
  • Kapha
Each of the 3 doshas is composed of 2 elements as shown here:
  • Vaata - Aakaasha, Vaayu
  • Pitta - Agni, Apa
  • Kapha - Apa, Prithvi
Vata dosha has the mobility quickness of aakaasha and vaayu; Pitta dosha the metabolic qualities of fire and water; Kapha dosha the stability and solidity of water and earth. This alerts us to the fact that when in balance, these force are life-supporting but when imbalanced they are the agents of disease and misery.

"Vikarodhatuvaishamyam dhatusatmyam arogatha"

More Insights on Tridosha

Doshas are of 2 varieties: Shaareerika (bodily) and Maanasika (psychological, of the mind). Shaareerika doshas are Vaata, Pitta and Kapha. They are what we mean when we use the term "tridosha". Generally, they are intimately connected to physical activities. The maanasika doshas are SatvaRajas and Tamas. These are often referred to as the 3 gunas, or qualities of the mind. Maanasika doshas have reference only to the mind and mental activities.

An intimate inter-relationship exists between these two types of doshas. In fact, according to charaka, derangements in one arena is always accompanied by changes in the other (Charaka samhita, sarirasthana 4, 35-36).

However, greater importance is attributed to the tridosha (vata, pitta & kapha) as the primary causative agents of disease. For every individual, each dosha has a unique quantity (pramana), quality (guna), and action (karma) in the physiology. Equilibrium of these 3 attributes with respect to an individual engenders health. When this balance is distributed through indulgence in foods and habits which are similar in nature to a specific dosha, this causes vrddhi - increase - in that dosha; food and habits of a dissimilar nature to that dasha will likewise cause its kshaya - decrease. This is the Ayurvedic doctrine of "like increases like".

"Vrddhi samanyarsarvesham vipareethairviparya:"

Vaata

The term Vaata comes from the Sanskrit word Vaayu which means "that which move things". Vaata regulates the nervous processes involved with movements, thoughts, emotions, eating, drinking, elimination and our general functioning, its disturbance can often have far-reaching consequences.

Pitta

The term pitta comes from the Sanskrit word pinj means "to shine". It carries the meaning of "that which digest" and is associated with the idea of being yellow-tinged or bilious. Pitta is often regarded as the "fire" within the body. Think of it as the energy stored in the chemical bonds of all the organic substances which make us up: it's encoded in our hormones, enzymes, organic acids and neurotransmitters. Charaka samhita, teaches that pitta functions in digestion, heat production, providing colour to the blood, vision and skin luster.

Kapha

The term kapha derives from the Sanskrit word "shlish" which means "that which hold things together; to embrace; coherent". It is the force which provides structure to everything from an individual atom or cell to the sturdy musculoskeletal frame. It gives strength, stability, and endurance - both physical and psychological - and promotes human emotions and capacities.

Saptha Dhaathus

The dhaathus are the basic varieties of tissues which compose the human body. The word dhaathu comes from a Sanskrit word which means "that which enters into the formation of the body". The root Dha means "support, which means bears". The primary dhaathus are 7 in number. They are:
  • Rasa
  • Raktha
  • Maamsa
  • Meda
  • Asthi
  • Majja
  • Sukra
Rasa dhaatu catalyzed by Rasagni - is transformed into Rakta dathu, the second fundamental bodily tissue. Rakta dhaatu in turn, with the help of Raktagni, becomes Maamsa dhaatu and so on.

Malaas

As a consequence of foods which we take into our bodies from the external world and the normal biological processes which take place internally, we generate different kinds of waste materials or mala, which must be excreted.
  • Aahaara mala - Purisha, mutra, sveda.
  • Dhaatu mala - Secretions of nose, eyes, ears, carbon dioxide, lactic acid, exfoliated hair, skin, nails.
Although these are all waste products, they serve a role in maintaining health as long as they are normal in their pramana, guna and karma. However if the malaas become abnormal in some regard, they become a factor in creating disease. When the dhaatus and malaas become imbalanced, they are called dushyas.

Some hints to control kidney stones or stones related to urinary tract.

This is one of the comman complaint what most of the people face in present days. There are many causes for this problem of stones. There are various varities of stones. They may be uric acid crystals, calcium oxalate crystals,Cystine stones and many more varities of stones. The problem of urinary calculi is more comman in males than in females. The ratio is 3:1.

The urinary stones are of different sizes and shapes. They may be samll as sand or large as a marble. They may have smooth surface or a cutting edge and rough. The small stones of the size of about-4-5 cmm pass of easily and requires no medication. They may even remain unidentified of a long time. But those larger and with irregular surface often causses pain when they dislocate from its position ,and when thrown out of the body.

Causes and measures for thier prevention:
-First and most comman cause is reduced intake of water. Most of us do not take enough amount of water. An healthy indivisual should consume atleast 2-3 litres of water in a day.So this should be the first step to be taken to avoid the reccurance and even as a prevention for urinary stones. One who are already facing the problem i advice them to increase the volume of water intake to atleast 2-3 times from before.

-IF one with holds the urge of urination and retains it in the bladder for long time in due course it will result in the formation of Calculi[stone].This may be due to work or circumstances. This is a bad habbit and causes various other problems like pain in the lower abdomen, infections of urinary tract, headache etc.Hence never try to with hold the urge of micturation for too long.

-control kidney stones or stones related to urinary tract.

Next consuming execcive salt and mineral rich diet.Lemme tell you excess of anything is always harmful. So reduce intake of such food articles.Take a balanced diet.

-

Ask pateint to take excessive fluids in his diet, barley water is a very good medicine.

-Following a sedentary life style is also a cause for the urinary calculi

-The risk increases in those who comsume lots of legumes and pulses and also those who take it very often.

The juice extracted from the stem of banana plant is the best medicine. It crushed the stones and removes it out from the tract and eliminates it out from the body. The reason is its rich in fibers and has got a medicinal property to crush the stones.
The stem of banana plant taken in any form is very helpful in this case..Even the juice from the roots of banana plant is beneficial
- consuming banana daily also acts as a preventive measure.

-Even the atmospheric conditiond contribute to the formation of stones.Eg- living in tropical regions,i.e-where the temperature is very high there the concentration of uric acid increases and exessive sweat leads to reduction of water levels in the body.If the person does'nt take enough water it will leads to stones formation in the urinary tract.

-People working in mines are much prone to such problems.

-People working in office with AC will naturally tend to sweat less and inturn lead to reduced intake of water which also leads to this problem again.

-Exessive intake of spicy food and sodium rich food is also a cause for this

- intake of execess of salt in the diet is also harmful.

-Avoid execcive intake of non vegetarian food ,spicy food and sour tastes in food.
-There is an execellent medicine in ayurveda for this problem.

Kolkata kids susceptible to liver ailments

Kids and their parents should be careful. The next time the kids gorge on junk food, the parents and children should keep in mind that those burgers and rolls are pushing their liver in a wrong direction. According to a study conducted by Diabetes Awareness and You (DAY) - a platform of clinical specialists - children in Kolkata now have a weaker liver and are more prone to diseases than they were 15 years ago. An alarming 12-15% of kids and adolescents between 12 and 16 years of age suffer from fatty liver. It can eventually lead to more serious and life-threatening ailments like cirrhosis and liver cancer. While fat-rich food and a sedentary lifestyle are being blamed for the threat, doctors warn that liver diseases could be the second most common ailment in the city, after diabetes, in another 15 years.

Conducted across 23 up-market schools in Kolkata, the study involved a routine SGPT test, which provided a shocking result. It showed that 12-15% had signs of fatty liver. A majority of these children were obese as well. It confirms the worst fears about the impact of fast food and aerated drinks. Coupled with lack of exercises, these have started taking a heavy toll on the health of children. Over the years, many of them are likely to suffer from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or cirrhosis of liver. They will also be more prone to jaundice.

The study also revealed that children suffering from fatty liver consumed more packaged food and carbonated drinks than the rest. On an average, they had less than 30 minutes of physical activity per day. According to health experts, fatty liver was the major cause of cirrhosis among adults. Change in food habits over the last 10-12 years is now taking a toll on young adults. Those in their early or mid-thirties are often suffering from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) that was quite rare a decade ago. Unless treated on time, this can lead to liver cirrhosis.

NAFLD heightens the risk of cardio-vascular diseases. Build-up of fat cells within the liver leads to NAFLD. Over a period of time, it can damage liver tissues. Unless controlled, it eventually leads to cirrhosis. Unlike 10-15 years ago, when cirrhosis or NAFLD patients would be above 50 years of age, now people across all age groups are falling prey. In many cases, the disease is being detected at an acute stage which means it had set in at a very young age.

It is difficult to identify fatty liver at an initial stage, experts said. There are hardly any symptoms till the disease takes on an acute form. So obesity or a sudden weight gain needs to be taken seriously. Overweight children are more likely to have fat deposits in the liver. Till now, it goes undetected in most cases. The result is that these patients end up with multiple diseases like cardiac disorders, blood sugar, obesity and liver failure at a later age. Usually, this cluster is a constellation and one leads to another. Unless dealt with at the earliest, we can't prevent them.

Fatty liver is not unusual even among children as young as six to eight years. Accordingly to the experts, ten years ago, it would be very rare, but no longer. Overweight children often have fat deposits in the liver and junk food is squarely responsible for this.

Following a more natural regime will ensure that the body is able to cope with a detox and expel the toxins out of the body more effectively. Consult a practitioner for one to one guidance on your constitution and a personalised detox plan for the Spring.

Ayurvedic herbs can treat liver problem including Fatty liver, Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, Ascites and Jaundice

Kamalahar is enriched with various herbs proven to be very effective for the treatment of liver problems. It has Tecoma undulata, Phyllanthus urinaria, Embelia ribes, Taraxacum officinale, Nyctanthes arbortritis and Terminalia arjuna.

Tecoma undulata is an herb which is proven to have medicinal property that helps in curing liver diseases especially for the treatment of hepatitis. It is also used in curing urinary disorders, enlargement of spleen, gonorrhea and leucoderma. Seeds are used against abscess.

Phyllanthus urinaria has been used for centuries to promote healthy elimination of gallstones and kidney stones. It is also used for the treatment of liver disease especially hepatitis B. Phyllanthus urinaria primarily contains lignans (e.g. phyllanthine and hypophyllanthine), gallic acid, alkaloids, and bioflavonoids (e.g. quercetin). While it remains unknown as to which of these substances has an antiviral effect, researchers believe that this herb acts primarily on the liver. Other research has revealed other possible benefits like helping to soothe the liver, detoxification of the liver and kidneys, relief from pain and inflammation, reducing oxidative stress, and an ability to inhibit hepatitis B virus DNA replication. It is believed that the possible benefit that phyllanthus urinaria provides in cases of liver damage could be due to the plants anti-viral activity. In Ayurvedic medicine, Phyllanthus has been used for over 2000 years in India for many medicinal uses for those with liver disease including hepatitis.

Embelia ribes is quite beneficial in the treatment of liver ailments especially jaundice and also for strengthening the body. It also helps with gastric problem by either preventing formation of gas in the gastrointestinal tract or facilitates the expulsion of gas. It is also quite useful against tape-worms. It is believed to be useful against skin diseases, bronchitis, urinary discharges, Dyspepsia, hemicrania, worms in wounds etc.

Taraxacum officinale is believed to have a medicinal value, in particular against liver problems. It is also known to be a Diuretic and quite beneficial in the treatment of liver cirrhosis. It is also used in herbal medicines as a mild laxative, for increasing appetite, and for improving digestion. The milky latex has been used as a mosquito repellent and as a folk remedy to treat warts.

Nyctanthes arbortritis is known for its important place in Hindu mythology and this plant has many common names like Indian Night Jasmine. The flower, seeds and leaves of the plant are diuretic, antibacterial, anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, immunopotential, anti pyretic, antioxidant, anti fungal, anti-bilious, sedative and antifilarial. It is useful in the treatment of many diseases including liver disorder. Its extract has proven by researchers to have significant hepatoprotective activity, which is ability to prevent damage to the liver and also hepatoregenerative. The herb in combination with other herbs is quite beneficial in the treatment of hepatitis, cirrhosis, alcohol liver diseases and other liver disorders. Apart from liver disorder, the herb has been used in the treatment of affections of scalp, rheumatic joint pain, malaria, snakebite, bronchitis, sciatica, chronic fever, rheumatism, internal worm infections, high blood pressure, diabetes, piles and skin diseases. Some people have also used the herb in the treatment of cancer.

Terminalia arjuna is high in co-enzyme Q-10 and helps in the treatment of cirrhosis of liver and reduces blood pressure. The arjuna was introduced into Ayurveda as a treatment for heart disease by Vagbhata. It is traditionally prepared as a milk decoction. In the Ashtānga Hridayam, Vagbhata mentions arjuna in the treatment of wounds, hemorrhages and ulcers, applied topically as a powder.
The combination of these herbs is what makes Kamalahar very effective in the treatment of liver disorders including hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver, ascites and jaundice.
